Hugo

This is the quilt I have entered in the Queensland Quilt Show. It is based on the photo I showed here. Click on the picture for a larger version. Do you like it? I do - I feel I really 'captured' Hugo.
Hugo likes it too, mainly because of the pirate fabric I used for the border!

Here you can see the winning quilts from the Show. I can't wait to see them IRL on Sunday!

YES! I like it very much. Fun to see my artist friend rendered in this way! Curious as how you did the photo.

I found the link and I played with it a bit. What part allowed you to make him look in shadow?

Very good understanding of value. The red is a good striking contrast. It shows his body language well. Good job!

Very nice! Love the red/black/white color scheme. It is fun that the pirate fabric reads as a simple print from a distance, but adds to the meaning when you view it up close. Great job with the values on the body.

Dear Linda,

What a fine portrait. You have captured a boy's energy even at rest. It looks as though he will jump to his feet and run off at any second.

Keep up the good work,
Linda Laird

Je had hier al mijn vraag beantwoord die ik je stelde in Facebook. Blij dat Hugo de quilt ook mooi vindt.
