Photography Class

This weekend I did an Introductory Digital Photography class here:



It was a lot of fun with a small group (6 students):



I've learned a lot about aperture, shutterspeed, ISO, white balance, depth of field etc etc etc...







... and a bit about working with Photoshop - I manipulated this photo that I made during our holiday in Noosa:

Ernst, again

I made some more prints of Ernst that I am quite happy with. Here is the original photo I used (made last May at the Queensland Museum, dancing to the Dinosaur songs):



I Photoshopped it into this sketch, which I used to make the lino cutting.



Now to decide how to make this into a quilt... Maybe just some handstitching?
I am also thinking of buying some canvas and paint to make a 'real' lino print...

OMG!

I just discovered Photoshop! I always thought it was very expensive and very difficult to use, but the basic Photoshop is free and it is not hard at all.
Above is a recent pic of Hugo, after some photoshopping. And below is a photo of the view I have when, 3 days a week, I take the train to work. After more than a year it still takes my breath away: the riverview of the City of Brisbane.

OMG, I can see endless possibilities for printing Photoshopped images on fabric, making screens etc...

PS I have sewn 3 rows of 8 selvedge blocks together so far, so 3 more to go, then sew the 6 rows together and then bind the quilt... I am itching to start some new, more artsy projects, but do want to finish this quilt first!
