Forest

Since Sally showed her KISS quilt on her blog, I decided I can show my Forest here as well. Yes, it's another Lisa Walton handdyed fabric where I have let the colour in the fabric guide the stitching - just like the quilt for my mother-in-law. As some people suggested, I have added some satin stitching and it does indeed look very good.
Many thanks to Dutch quilter Aart who explained to me how to add my name to the photos!

I have sewn on the sleeve and the quilt now hangs in my sewing room:

I love these subdued colours!

It has been a whole week since I last posted here! We had some very busy days, with friends staying over for a few nights, a school fete, and another gymnastics competition (Hugo won a ribbon for fourth place on pommel horse!!! Photos on our family blog). I have worked hard on a bag for the Embellish a Bag Challenge - it is finished now, but I can't show it yet. I hope it will be selected to be exhibited here in Brisbane at the Textile Art Festival in June.

Don't forget that even when I am not posting here, I am posting a daily photo on my A Photo, A Day blog. I would love it if you would come and follow me there as well!

It's very pretty Linda. And the satin stitches looked like couching to me as though something is under that you have stitched over to make it took thicker somehow? No? Very very nice.
And bravo to Hugo~!~!

Oh Linda!

My Lisa "Forest" fabric is on it's way around Tassie in a suitcase! It is part of the '"F" Word' Challenge! I love what you have done with it!

That piece of fabric just needed to humm! I forgot to take a photo of mine before I sent it away!

Your KISS is beautiful!
